Education & Youth Development

Maiterya foundation will be collaborating with Charities, NGO’s and other organisations, nationally and internationally to develop documentaries and programs which will provide concepts, skills and tools needed to accelerate youth transformation. We want to prepare young people for economic independence. We will use small group action planning, one to one discussions, panel discussions and team building exercises programs and events to explore how to successfully involve young people in decision making education, awareness camps, activities, talk shows, group discussions.
For the young we create an effective counselling approach through TV programming. We aim for them learn assessment methods, life planning, individual and group counselling with the collaboration of the organizations.

Human Rights

Maiterya Foundation will protect and promote human rights. Creating programs, documentaries and Live/recorded debates, this can help to highlight some of the Issues concerning human rights and can explore social rights. The programs look into the theoretical and practical implications of social rights. Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled.
Maiterya Foundation aim to cover all aspects of human rights in a world where basic human rights and freedom should be compulsory all around the world. We are entitled to these rights and freedom but many people around the world are not so lucky. Some of these rights include civil rights, political rights and right to life, social, economic and cultural rights as well as the right to food, water, education and the right to work, as well as the right to freedom of speech and expression. A quotation from the United Nations Universal declaration of human rights says:
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Rights and freedoms refer to Civil and political rights such as;

• Social, cultural and economic rights,

Animals and Wildlife

Maiterya Foundation identifies the main welfare issues and the importance of running owner programmers and documentaries. These in the long term give animal owners the knowledge they need to be able to take better care of their animals.
Maiterya Foundation is working hard with various animal charities, along with appeals, and news from all over the world, giving knowledge of what is really happening out there, to animals all around the world. Animals are very important to the environment so educating people about this is vital. Animals should be treated with respect and unfortunately in the world today, many animals are treated terribly by many humans and we need to stress the importance that this has to stop. Animals have been a part of the earth for millions of years-as long as human beings. Some cultures worship certain animals.
We believe that animals can live happily and healthily if proper care is taken of them.
As a result, Maiterya Foundation aims to highlight the work undertaken by the Animal charities through creating programs/documentaries of the work carried out and we believe that together we can give a better future to our animals.

International Aid

Maiterya Foundation is committed to Highlighting the after mass of a disasters such as hurricane Katrina, storms, floods, and the tsunami that continue to test international aid’s ability to provide compassionate care in emergencies. Maiterya Foundation provides when and where required, appeals which will support the International aid organisations. Maiterya Foundation will also show through documentaries the successful ongoing work undertaken by the charities. This will demonstrate the hard work charities and NGO’s do to improve global health care and making available other services to unfortunate parts of the world.
International Aid provides help to the third world and helps many people who have nothing to start with, especially when disaster strikes. There is much need for long-term sustainable economic growth and for people to be able to live independently like in many parts of the world today. When there is an emergency, it is vital for humanitarian aid to be provided. Giving money is not just the answer. What people need most of all are food, warmth, water, safety and peace of mind and that is what all human beings should have at all times.

Poverty & Unemployment

This area focuses on the immense poverty and unemployment affecting the world today. It is up to the people of the world to provide support and sustainable businesses for the poor so that they can also prosper in life. This also ties in with the homelessness we see everyday on the streets, but ignore. It is hard to help somebody when you don’t know how but through education and resources, those in help can lead a good life too, given the chance. With such developed countries such as the UK, USA and many others, it is up to us to provide these poor countries such as West Africa, parts of India and many more, with the help they need. If we all join in, at least something can be achieved.

Homeless

A human being should have a dry, warm place to sleep. In today’s society, too many people are living rough on the streets or cramped in a hostel for the homeless, relying on handouts. We aim to change this by involving homeless people who feel hopeless, in various community work and challenges, to kick start their careers and life. We can only do this with full support from the public. There are many reasons as to why somebody should end up homeless. This could be to do with mental health reason, social problems, issues to do with the past and the present situation of the person. There are also some people such as gypsies, who prefer to not have a home. But many are in desperate situations, with an estimated 100 million homeless people in the world today. If we can help house even a small percentage of these people in need, by giving them good opportunities then the world will be a better place.

One of the most crucial aspects of today’s society is making sure the elderly are cared for in their last few years of life. Many elderly people are lonely and therefore rely on local community support, from care homes and hospitals to home visits and friends to talk to. With the elderly now living much longer than at any point in history, it is vital that they are supported at all times and given the respect that we all should have, when we reach the age of retirement. Retirement is the time to relax and to rest and the elderly should not be forgotten about, like so many are in the world today. We want to change the ageism issues surrounding us today.
